This is the blog site on the New Way of Working by Arjan de Kok. I am a PhD on the subject the New Way of Working. The header shows the title of my dissertation research, from which a number of articles on this blog is taken.
I received my bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, and my bachelor degree of Business Administration at the University of Applied Sciences Amsterdam, followed by my Master of Business Administration degree at Liverpool University. In 2012, I started my doctoral research at the Department of Information and Computing Sciences of Utrecht University on the subject of the New Way of Working, which I completed beginning of 2018. I am a (guest) lecturer at Utrecht University for the modules ‘Organizations and ICT’ and ‘ICT Advisory’, and a tutor at the Open University for the module ‘Data Governance’.
I set up this blog to create more awareness for the changes that are going on in our work environment, and the effect these changes have on employees and organizations. Much of my research is based in the Netherlands, where the New Way of Working (Het Nieuwe Werken) is a well known phenomenon. Being a scientific researcher, my blog contains many references to scientific and practitioner literature, encouraging you, the reader, to delve deeper into the subject.
